It is a rainy, spring day.
In “The Museum of Earth’s Past,” a crowd of 50 kids gather in the auditorium.
This square shaped building features all glass windows on two sides of the
building. The other two sides and the top are concealed with growing plants along
beams for support. The children could hear the rainwater gathering along the
pipes, trickling down the auditorium to collect for re-using. All buildings in
this day and age are sustainable. The kids sit in these oval pods that are
lined with grass for cushion. On the wooden stage is a table with water and a
very abstract chair made of vines and leaves.
The
kids are waiting patiently for one the first humans of their time to come and
tell her story about landing on Earth for the first time. The kids all just
around the age where they are learning about how their environment is what it
is to today. Every year someone from the original group of humans speak about
their journey. This year only one of the original 20 humans remains.
Amethyst, the last, old woman walks on stage. The energy in the
room grows with a lot of excitement. Children rise and applaud the lady. As she
sits in her chair the kids settle down and sit quietly. From here,
Amethyst speaks about her journey to Earth 2.0.
--
Hi
everyone, my name is Amethyst and I am one of the last original humans to
repopulate Earth 2.0! Here is my story.
I woke up in a small box the size of my body. “Is that my planet?”
I thought to myself. There was this wet, gooey material that covered my body. I
looked like I hadn’t aged at all. I had the same body as a 22-year-old, yet I
knew I was much, much older. How much older, I wasn’t sure. There were a total
of 20 people, including me, who slowly awoke from their hibernation pods. Our
bodies were preserved and we were so young. I wondered why I was in space. I
thought I must have been asleep for too long because nothing was coming to mind.
An old man appeared from around the corner and yelled to all of us aboard,
“Prepare for landing everyone!”
“Landing? Landing where?” I asked. I could hear mutters of other people asking
the same question in varying forms.
The man replied, “From Earth, we were sent to space an entire lifetime ago. You
are to repopulate our human race and make the Earth sustainable. When you
return, in just under an hour, you all will be the first people to walk the
planet in 100 years.”
I
couldn’t believe I had been sleeping for 100 years. I wondered why he kept
saying you and not we. Is he not coming down with us?
Before I could work up the courage to ask, another man in the group questioned,
“Are you going to be coming down with us? Why is there no time for us to
prepare? I just woke up from sleeping 100 years and now I’m supposed to be
getting on a ship to land on Earth? Why do I not remember anything about that?
There isn’t much I remember at all, yet you know why we are here?” The man
scratched his head and said, “This is very confusing.”
The old man answered his questions softly, “I have not been sleeping and
preserving my body for as long as you all have been. I was set to wake up 50
years in. I am 80 years old. I was 30 when I fell asleep and when I woke up it
was as if no time had passed. I have been preparing for you to land on the
Earth for the last 50 years. Someone had to direct the ship back home and I
chose to do that for you all. You 20 individuals were the best at what you did.
I can’t explain too much. I do not want to screw anything up. Soon you will be
landing on Earth. I’m going to die not long after, so there is no reason for me
to land with you. You are smart people who were chosen to rebuild humanity for
a reason. You will live as one with the Earth and all people will share eternal
and universal love. I don’t want to share too much; the Earth was in a bad
place that we (the ones who sent them to space to repopulate) don’t want to
repeat.”
The old man spoke delicately. He was very submissive towards our
group. His mouth flattened out, he held his head low and his eyes were heavy.
He was humble.
Every person
on the ship had a skill that was beneficial. I had a skill in healing. I am a
holistic health practitioner after all. As for the others I wasn’t sure. We had
to prepare for landing, so there was no time for chit chat. I contemplated how
the Earth would look when we stepped onto the untouched ground. My new life was
just beginning with 19 other individuals. I was getting ready and preparing
myself to live and procreate with them.
I had so many questions running through my head as we buckled up.
My heart was about to jump out of my chest. All emotions were running through
me. I was excited and scared. I was curious and uncomfortable. What is the
Earth going to look like and how am I going to survive with 19 other people
that I have never met before? It was time to take off. The ship began to rumble
and we detached from the main port. Finally, at this moment, I felt a sensation
of calmness. I was able to relax and let the ship take me where I needed to be.
My journey was insanely fulfilling. When we landed on Earth I knew in my being
life had really just begun. It was as if I were reborn. I wasn’t sure why. We
landed in the water close to land and quickly got to shore. As we stepped onto
the fertile ground I felt flustered. Again, I was nervous and excited. My heart
raced. Nothing looked more beautiful to me than the earth for what it was meant
to be. I was seeing the glorious planet in its natural state, and everything
was so new to me like a child experiencing things for the first time.
The sea was refreshing. It was not too hot nor was it too cold. The water was
roaring with sound. Waves tumbled over my shins. I could feel the hot sand in
between my toes as I approached the dry shore. Wind blew through my hair, as
seagulls screamed from above soaring through the sky. The trees were so green,
filled with a myriad of color throughout. Flowers of all kinds were everywhere.
Life was blooming. I knew I was there to recreate a superb life on Earth with
the other fascinating people I was with .
Ahead
I saw a butterfly scatter out of the jungle. Instantly I felt a connection, I
remembered my spirit guide from the earth before and in my deep sleep for those
100 years on board. My spirit butterflies taught me a lot about my life before.
Any time I see a butterfly I instantaneously feel relief. I feel like
everything is meant to be right in the moment. The 20 of us were eventually
able to figure out who we were as individuals with this practice. I was able to
help everyone tap into to their spiritual guides. Practicing my holistic health
and meditating with my spirit guides was the only trace of who I was in my
past. As we all know, knowing who we truly are is essential to living a
vigorous life. Through my healing work I was able to help the other 19 people
breach past their barriers and dig deep into the core of who they were before
it was all washed away from the people of Earth 1.0.
Soon
after landing on earth and venturing around for about 10 to 15 minutes we all
gathered and sat on the sand. As curious as I was about everyone I could not
help but ask what everyone did in their past. I knew conversation was in order.
I knew if I was going to be spending the rest of my life with these people I
had to get to know them.
Nervously,
I began to introduce myself, “Hi everyone, my name is Amethyst. I’ll start off
by saying I don’t remember what happened to the earth before we left, but I do
remember I was practicing energy healing. Since we’re going to be spending our
time together let’s get to know one another.” Right after me everyone took a
turn and said their name along with what they specialized in.
Listening to their stories brought up fear in me. Can you imagine not knowing
what happened to you, yet remembering only your name and what skill you have
mastered? It was a weird sensation and I was not sure how to feel. I knew I
would have a lot to offer as a healer. Already I could feel the power of the
land. So much positive energy was circulating, in the air, from the trees, on
the sand, from person to person. All the energy felt so vibrant. This whole
thing was all still an eerie feeling nonetheless. My mind filled with thoughts
again.
What possibly could have happened where we could only save 20 people from the
entire population? Is that really possible? Are there other ships that will
soon be landing? The captain who sacrificed his life on earth to launch our
ship was not going to be there to answer any of my questions. Everyone I was
with was just as clueless as I was. We couldn’t let that get the best of us
though.
The others on the ship proved themselves to be useful. I imagined they would
be. There was a male and a female in each of our skill sets. By great dexterity
we all brought similar ideas. There of course were food gatherers; they raised
livestock, farmed, and cooked. We had the architects who mastered the art of
building sustainably. There were chefs who cooked only the most nutritious,
natural food, and the last two people were able to help out where they were
needed. They knew how to do a little bit of everything, possessing all kinds of
skills.
After getting to know each other we were almost at a loss for words. None of us
knew what to talk about because we didn’t know anything about our lives to have
a conversation about. As time went on and years passed we became the best of
friends never knowing how to shut up at times. It was shocking how calm we all
remained when we first landed. Figuring out who I was on Earth 1.0, I now find
it strange that I did not freak out when I first landed on Earth 2.0. I would
have been jittery and probably a lot more obnoxious than I was. When I landed I
was calm and collected.
The
people who sent us to space programmed us to forget our past because the
society we once lived in was too disconnected from the knowledge to sustain our
life. We humans deteriorated our land by becoming too involved with technology.
We took our precious knowledge for granted and became reliable on getting
whatever information we needed at the tips of our fingers. No one really had to
think much anymore because we had computers and phones that thought for us.
They let the power of their minds get the best of them. People were also filled
with evil. Human’s back then showed more hate than they did love. Now,
everything runs so smoothly. Our people love each other and we are all in this
together. We were provided with so many useful tools to keep us from suffering;
they helped us learn how to live in the wild. If the people of our time before
and that nice old man on the ship not prepared all of this for us we probably
would have died.
The lady architect screamed, “Look! There are things falling from the sky!”
“It
has to be other people, I knew we couldn’t be the only people saved!” said the
farmer.
It took just a few minutes for all the large crates to abruptly land on shore
in the distance. The huge boxes took us about 10 minutes to walk to from where
we gathered. Everyone froze for a second as we began to approach the boxes. We
all had a look of confusion, uneasiness, curiosity, and contemplation on our
faces. Slowly, we all walked in unison to the crates. They were ginormous, from
afar we could tell they were big, but we didn’t realize they were the size of a
ship.
I asked the group, “What do you think it is? I know it can’t be
people; they would have a door to walk out of already, just like we were able
to escape the ship easily. I think it has to be things for us to utilize. There
is a man up there who said he was preparing for us. What else could it be if no
one is exiting the crates?” No one could answer with anything certain.
The crates were hard to open. Inside each one was something different. We all
had a crate that was labeled with our names on it; the others were labeled “ALL
MEMBERS.” We all became anxious to open them. There was a common occurrence
with me in this day; my heart began to race. We were all at our own box. We
gradually began to open them, gently maneuvering the perplexing latches. I
lifted the small lid, went inside and was able to push open the crate. In each
of our boxes were essential items for each of us to use. Some things I knew had
to be mine before, like the entire wardrobe of clothes that fit me perfectly.
In the other crates we had everything imaginable to keep us sustained.
We
all came from what we called Modern Civilization. It wasn’t much different from
today in terms of having food and shelter. One of the biggest differences now
is how we utilize our land and build our buildings sustainably. The humans
began to create these harmful chemicals that destroyed practically everything.
People were mass producing their essentials and the Earth became over
populated. There was a crate that was filled with books, books of all kinds
that all related to our humans past, how to build things, how to survive, how
to love, it was all there. There were books that pertained to our
specializations and history books that shed light on the horrible things we
were doing to our Earth. From there we were able to transform our lives.
The books really served me well. I wasn’t able to uncover myself through these
books, but I was able to learn about where I came from. They informed me of the
noble humans who tried to save our civilization. They gave me lessons that
support the type of honorable society we have today. They also mentioned the
bad things that went on. It wasn’t much though, there was nothing describing
how to do those things. They were just short stories. This helped our group
know what didn’t work so that we wouldn’t repeat what already happened. A lot
of them had side lessons that coincided with the opposite/beneficial side of
the story. We didn’t read any of these books until about 5 years in. They
strategically placed the books in the order they wanted us to read them. They
put them in an order that helped moved our Esoteric Civilization along
seamlessly.
Sometimes I question why we are able to keep our life the way it is now because
we use to think that evil could prevail all. We have the same DNA those people
did. Our people did not live with love and compassion. People lived in fear and
distress more than not. The 20 of us that rebuilt our Esoteric Civilization
lived life the way we should have back then, the way you all are living now. We
came up with the name Esoteric Civilization because only a small amount of
people were making the most of our land. Most of the people that inhabited the
Earth at the time of the destruction were killing it due to their actions and
carelessness. There were not enough people to colonize a new society that would
sustain the planet, so we collectively destroyed it. Thankfully there were good
people preparing to save our race so that we could once again inhabit our
planet. I often feel like if we came from such horror, how do none of us turn
against one another like most people back then did? Don’t get me wrong, I would
never wish that on any of us. I cannot be happier with how we live now despite
my questioning of not repeating the past.
Rebuilding
the land and repopulating the soil has been a long and hard odyssey. I am so
thankful to everyone for what they have accomplished on Earth 2.0. Our
revitalized Esoteric Civilization is one that no one in my generation could
ever imagine. It was all a hope and a dream at first. Because of all of our
efforts to keep our population holistic we are able to live in peace. No one
from my time experienced such conciliation. I am grateful and humbled to have
brought up such beautiful people. We are an ever growing populace that will
only continue to flourish. I know I will be leaving Earth 2.0 in the most
amazing hands of the human race. Here I am, living on Earth 100 years later
(that makes me 122 years old). Very few people lived to the age of 90 in the
time before the destruction. Our civilization is more advanced than the most
exceptional people of the past. I can imagine a generation that progresses to
flawlessness. You kids are going to be the ones to make it that way. Thank you
all for listening to me! Now get out there and LIVE LIFE the way we were meant
to live kids!
--
The kids in the auditorium roared with approval of
Amethyst’s story as she exited the stage. The last human to rebuild our
population lives to tell another day. We are not sure how many more times she
will get on this stage to tell her legend or if she ever will again. We can
only hope for the best and continue on wholeheartedly.
